Sue St. Michael Art and Travel Musings: My work as an elementary school teacher provided an opportunity to work with children in the field of education and art for many years. My spare time found me working in the ceramics field, making masks, tiles and functional ware. More recently watercolor painting has been an interest in addition to my work in clay. My paintings have been on display in Grand Central Bakery on Hawthorne and in November I participated in the Sitka Center for Art and Ecololgy 2011 Invitational in collaboration with Jude Siegel. Meditation practice and participation in Buddhist study and sangha in both the Vispassana and Zen traditions have guided my spiritual practice for many years.
